SOCK HOP and SPECIAL HOURS:

The Academy of Hoosier Heritage museum will be open from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday, April 16, prior to the Mooresville High School Alumni Banquet. Stop by the historic 1861 Academy Building, the original high school, to see local and school history materials, a special century-old Easter postcard display (on exhibit through May 4), and a one-room school room.

Admission to the museum is free.

Saturday evening, the museum will also be hosting its third dance next door in the Newby gym. The Golden Oldies Sock Hop will feature live 50's and 60's dance music performed by Rick "Rockin Ricky" Lee, along with refreshments, door prizes, contests and special displays. The doors will open at 8:00 pm, and the live music will begin at 8:30 pm. The events ends at 11:30 pm.

Admission for the Sock Hop is $5 per person.

The museum is located on the Newby Elementary School campus at 250 North Monroe Street in Mooresville, and is open for regular hours from 2:00 to 7:00 pm every Wednesday. Private and group tours and special programs can be scheduled for other days and times. For more information, call (317) 831-9001, (317) 402-5321, or email jrkylelee@comcast.net.
